As a consultant, Jerry Krone brings to the clients of Geller Media Management, Inc. a wealth of experience that is as diverse as it is rich. He is one of the more interesting people you'll find in the television news business. For over a decade, he served as Senior Vice President of Creative Services for Geller Media Management, Inc. by providing coaching, creative services and program development. His creative work with the clients was extensive and gave him an intimate understanding of developing clients' skills.
His life in the communication and information world spans over 40 years, beginning with a weekly radio program while he was in his home city, Memphis, Tennessee. In the early days of PBS, he produced and directed for the PBS station in St. Louis an innovative news program interviewing such notable people as Eleanor Roosevelt.
As a theater producer, he owned and operated his own management company and co-founded in 1967, along with Bobby Hooks and Douglas Turner Ward, the most prestigious and important black theater company in the world, The Negro Ensemble Company. His work with that company resulted in many Tony nominations and Tony awards, as well as Obies and Outer Critics Awards.
He has been executive producer and creative consultant for prime time television programming for both commercial and public television and in television syndication; has served as a consultant for prime time programming in broadcasting, cable and public television. Here too he received his share of prestigious awards.
He has served as a communications consultant worldwide with an impressive array of companies such as BP Amoco, Tenneco, Citicorp, Honeywell, International Paper, Delta Airlines, Continental Airlines, Nautica, Krispy Kreme, Zeneca Pharmaceuticals, US News and World Report, AgDay Television, Essence Communications, MagneTeck, House and Garden Magazine, Women.com and NetValueHoldings.Com among many, many others.
As a media consultant for senior management, he has trained vice presidents, presidents, CEOs, COOs, CFOs and Chairmen in all aspects of their functioning better in the media including presentations and speaking skills, crises management, speech writing, etc. He has also functioned as speech writer for many top level executives including both the President and the Chairman of the Board of BP Amoco. While his work with these businesses has covered a range of assignments, it has been directed primarily toward consulting with the highest levels of corporate management.
At BP Amoco, he designed and continues to coach their two most advanced leadership communications programs. He also consults worldwide with business teams on strategic communication plans, and provides senior management with individual coaching for a variety of high level external and internal presentations, speeches, interviews, and crisis communications.

This past year, he was a guest lecturer on strategic communications at the Young Presidents Organization university program in Hong Kong.
Krone has served as a special projects consultant to the National Endowment for the Arts, the Ford Foundation, and the Rockefeller Foundation. He graduated with honors from Washington University in St. Louis, where he later served as a member of the faculty. |
